For more than 150 years Darégal has been cultivating and leading innovation within the culinary herb world.
In 2007 the company decided to enter directly into the UK market with the creation of Daregal Gourmet Limited.
To succeed within the UK market and bring both Food Safety and Technical Excellence the business embarked upon a major investment within both France and Spain. This was to develop its existing facility in France and build a state of the art facility in Spain.
The minimum standard demanded by both the market and company was the creation of a High Care facility in both countries. To achieve this we enlisted Don Meredith as a consultant to help develop and review plans to create the best High Care facilities possible. Not only did Don support and guide us with the engineering and structural changes required he was also instrumental in helping develop the culture of the business into a High Care focused operation. This was achieved by working alongside our people, gaining their respect and trust to help deliver the company objectives.
This relationship continues with Don actively involved in key projects within the group.

Linden Foods set a goal earlier this year to become an M&S Gold Hygiene site. Part of the journey was to deliver appropriate technical training across all departments.Traditionally, operations and engineering departments find it more difficult to comply with Technical expectations so more effort was applied in these areas.
The Training delivered by Stevie was actually ground breaking. When engineering staff come back from a course it is rare to hear any comments but when I heard comments like “I really get that now” and “Now I understand where we need to get to” my ears pricked up. Stevie was tough – but inspiring. More importantly, when the Technical Manager tells you that “Engineering have really changed” and the Operations Manager says things like “Let’s just set it up to do it right first time”, you know something special is going on. We weren’t just ticking boxes any more. They were inspired. Attitude has changed.
We followed up with further Hygiene training with Stevie so that a critical mass of managers across departments were fully trained. The changes in production became apparent and complaints dropped dramatically.
When it came to allergen training there was a similar impact. I personally witnessed some of the sessions. Stevie’s ability to impart her extensive knowledge in a way that enthuses people was very apparent. She held their concentration in a difficult area. Her enthusiasm was infectious. No punches were held. Above all, it was risk based, practical and sensible for a production environment.
I am happy to recommend Stevie to other companies and will definitely use her services again in the future.
